One thing which I suspect is common to most visual artists, is being asked to draw in the manner or style of somebody else. There's nothing wrong with this, really, and I'll bet there are a lot of artists who enjoy showing off their skills in this way.
But for me, it's actually pretty annoying.
When I'm asked something along the lines of "Hey, I gotta hire you to draw a tattoo for me and I'm really into old Spider-Man. Do you think you could draw me as Spider-Man but can you make it look like Steve Ditko drew it??"
Or, "Can you draw my dog but can you make it look like Charles Schulz drew it?" All I hear is the message that apparently I'm not good enough, drawing as myself.
I don't know, am I too sensitive?
