ORIGINAL PEN AND INK AD ART
This is the original inked artwork for an ad which ran in The Stranger, for The Rat City Roller Girls' sixth bout of their first season. It was eventually printed as a three color silk screen poster as well, but this is the original drawing on which that was based. It is part collage, as the Rat City Roller Girls logo (NOT designed by me, btw), seen here as the "rat signal" is cut and pasted in.
I also had to redo the information about which music guest would be appearing as the original band had backed out and The Glory Holes substituted. That was also drawn separately and pasted on. Finally, the web address for Brown Paper Tickets is also pasted on. Everything else is the original inked pencil drawing, on Hunt Bienfang Master illustration board, 11" X 17".
The rat in the bottom right corner has a word balloon which reads "Printing by Gryphon Graphics". I included that when I thought that this piece was going to be copied directly for the aforementioned silk screen poster which Gryphon Graphics of Bremerton was to do (no connection to me by the way. Gryphon was Gabriel Lee's former print shop. He is still at it, now at Fingers Duke in Bremerton). I actually drew the entire image over again for the silk screen poster, on mylar.
